The Family House Park was taken twice by the Islamist militants, but then recaptured by the Syrian Army.
Radical militants fighting Syrian government in Aleppo launched, today morning, a wide-scale offensive against the Syrian Army’s positions in Al-Zahraa district to the west of Aleppo.
The offensive began with the militants detonating a tunnel used by Army soldiers, followed by intense bombing with mortars and homegrown rockets.
Fierce battles then erupted whereby the hardline militants managed to break into the Army defensives, capturing the Family House amusement park.
The assault was led by the Turkish-backed Nour al-Din al-Zenki movement, along with al-Qaeda franchise in Syria, Jabhet al-Nusra.
Earlier this day, dozens were killed, mostly women and children, in rebels’ deadly rocket attack on a maternity hospital in downtown Aleppo.
