DAMASCUS, SYRIA (4:00 P.M.) – On Sunday, the Islamic State massacred dozens of Kurdish combattants after overwhelming positions controlled by the ‘Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) on the provincial border between Hasakah and Deir Ezzor.

In what appeared to be a succesful hit-and-run operation, jihadist militants infiltrated several checkpoints and outposts along the main road between Al-Salhiyah and Sor after which many SDF members were caught off-guard and executed on the spot.

Some 40 photos released by Amaq Agency indicate the scale of the short-lived ISIS attack which aimed solely at inflicting heavy casualties upon the SDF, likely in direct retaliation over the ongoing ‘Al-Jazirah Storm’ offensive that began on September 9.

Viewer discretion is advised:

Such hit-and-run operations have become a repeated scenario in the region as the SDF continues to seize largely abanboned Islamic State ground, only to have jihadist militants launch deadly counter-attacks when they least expect it.

The United States Air Force is heavily involved in driving back ISIS from its last towns in southern Hasakah and eastern Deir Ezzor yet the US-led coalition somehow managed to miss the massive Islamic State convoy seen above.

The SDF lines are stretched too far. They need to regroup to handle the offensive the Turks are starting in N. Syria near the Kurdish held territories. The Kurds would be well advised to do a deal with the Syrian regime and give up the areas they seized in traditionally non-Kurdish Deir Ezzor for guaranteed oil, military supplies and logistic help that they are going to need in battling the invading Turks. Having secure control of at least the Kurdish homeland is preferable to holding on insecurely to a larger area with hostile locals in order to do the dirty… Read more »

You body eventually turn to dust after the worms and bacteria have a go at your body anyway. In Muhammadism, the soul is extracted at death and parked until the Judgement time. Then, depending on whether you were considered a good or bad Muslim you are rewarded accordingly.

All this in the name of a fictitious god. There is no God and no Allah.

No it’s not. the local actors are all been manipulated by very cynical global players. While politics is mostly local, here it takes the form of tribalism rather than religious disputes. I will concede, however, that the devil will find willing volunteers among easily led downtrodden Arab youth with no opportunities and little opportunity to find a women. That the false promise of 7 vestal virgins for every martyr indeed acts as a great incentive,

Ahem … money, organisation and weapons come from NATO and allies, madness from captagon pills, manufactured in the mentioned states. Bought imams telling some propaganda. There probably was never a war for religion, only the hypocrites want to make us believe.

This is just a misunderstanding of a religion. These misunderstandings are found in all religions as yours.

An estimated 80% to 90% of the population of native Indians perished after the arrival of Christian Europeans. Religion of love worshipers.

The Kurds hadn’t even established any defensive lines in Islamic State’s direction. They never expected an attack.

Guess a truce was broken.

To be expected with the suicide mission the US sent Islamic State on, where literally hundreds died for no gains.

Yes, it appears that this ISIS gang is not as ‘friendly’ as the Deir Ezzor Arab ISIS gang (tribe ) who were only in ISIS for the money from the stolen oil trade anyway. Perhaps the Yanks should realise that setting up a Boy Scout tent surrounded by a mound of dirt does not constitute a Defensive Position 🙂

It is apparent that the use of entrenching tools has become a lost art and if there is no mechanical digger its a case of sitting around the camp fire.
