DAMASCUS, SYRIA (1:20 P.M.) – Dozens of Islamist militants have been killed today in the northeastern neighborhood of al-Qaboun as the Syrian Army troops raided rebel positions in a bid to secure the insurgent-held district.

A military source embedded with the Army troops exclusively told AMN that government forces managed to capture alive the commander of a rebel group after killed all his militiamen.

The troops were also capable of recapturing a number of buildings and tunnels used by the al-Qaeda-affiliated militants.

Two days ago, the Syrian forces conducted a daring behind-the-enemy-line operation, rescuing 34 kidnapped (civilians and military) who have been used to dig tunnels, and capturing the three rebel guards.

They have nothing to worry about; assd will free all of them soon. You hear people say “saa do not have enough man power to fight militants”. That is BS. Nearly 20,000 militants, that have been fully encircled and/or captured, were ultimately released with weapons, who then rejoin militants and attack, like in N. Hama.
