Una unidad de élite del Ejército Árabe Sirio (EAS) se ha hecho arduo camino desde Damasco a la campiña oriental de Hama, donde se preparan para lanzar una operación masiva contra los terroristas del Estado Islámico (ISIS) en la zona, señaló una fuente militar el jueves a Al-Masdar.

Según la fuente, la 4ta División Mecanizada del Ejército Árabe Sirio, junto con al 5to Cuerpo y los Marines rusos, se preparan para iniciar una operación militar para liberar el campo oriental del distrito de Salamiya, controlado por el Estado islámico durante más de dos años.

Entre los muchos objetivos para las fuerzas sirias y rusas en el este de Hama estará Uqayrbat; esta ciudad rural es considerado el principal bastión de ISIS en la provincia y tiene una ubicación central a lo largo de la ruta principal de suministros del grupo terrorista desde el campo de Homs a la gobernación de Raqqa.

Si el Ejército Árabe Sirio tiene éxito en tomar el control de Uqayrbat y sus aldeas cercanas, entonces estarán en posición de cerrar el importante bolsón de ISIS en el este de Hama.
