BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:50 A.M.) – At dawn on Wednesday morning, several green buses provided by the Syrian Government to evacuate civilians and jihadists from east Aleppo remained empty, despite the peace agreement that was put in place just hours before the scheduled departure.
Prior to the scheduled departure this morning, sporadic gunfire was reported from the jihadist camp throughout the night, causing many soldiers from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) to fear the peace agreement was forfeited.
According to a Syrian military officer, the evacuation of jihadists and civilians has been postponed indefinitely; this is due to poor communication and internal disputes among the opposition forces.
With a great deal of uncertainty regarding the evacuation of jihadists and civilians, it is very likely that this peace deal could collapse if no third party intervenes.
