A draft report on arms exports, which will be tabled at the European Parliament’s plenary session in Strasbourg later this week, suggests launching an investigation into how EU-made weapons end up in the possession of terrorists in the Middle East.

One provision of the document, presented by German MEP Sabine Lösing, says that the European Parliament is “shocked at the amount of EU-made weapons and ammunition found in the hands of Daesh* in Syria and Iraq.”

The same draft highlights that some EU member-states, including Bulgaria and Romania, have failed to apply the Common Position in relation to weapons’ retransfers, which contravenes end-user certificates.

The document further proposes making it obligatory for EU member-states to “deny an export licence if there is a clear risk that the military technology or equipment to be exported might be diverted.”

The European Parliament “calls on all Member States to refuse similar transfers in the future, notably to the US and Saudi Arabia,” the draft reads.

Syrian media have on multiple occasions reported that the country’s army had discovered large stocks of arms, ammunition, vehicles and other military equipment, made in the US, Europe and Israel, while conducting mop-up operations in regions liberated from terrorists.

I’m shocked that the E.U. clowns didn’t know that E.U. made weapons and ordnance were being used by terrorists in Syria and Iraq. It’s common knowledge for those who dare make even a cursory investigation. How they got there though and who supplied them is where things get a lot more complicated.
In fact i’d be even more shocked if i found out there was no EU weaponry used by terrorista in this conflict.

Well IMHO the Linke are clowns or better puppets on a string. The weapons used in recent conflicts that showed active Jihadi have been normally Soviet vintage due to their price and other reasons. Theses weapons are not only made by Russia but in all communist, ex-communist, ex-Warsaw pact and ex-Soviet states. Some of these states are in the EU now. LOL. The paths of the weapons and ordnance were and are recorded and have been investigated by Conflict Armament Research. Their end user certificates point to the US or certain Bani Gulf countries which means these countries issued unlawful… Read more »

You have to give the EU Parliament a bit of slack. They are after all part of the ultimate bureaucracy! Stern Daler is correct about the US passing on ex-Eastern European weaponry to various jihadis and the GCC autocracies doing likewise with American weapons directly. If at some time, in the future, that all this comes back to bite Saudi Arabia and the UAE (unemployed jihadis have to go somewhere), I’ll have a good laugh. The Americans currently are trying trying to do those two reprobate nations a favour by transporting ISIS members and other jihadis to far away Afghanistan… Read more »

ISIS never runs out of ammunition or explosives. ………….. WHY?! ISIS never, ever, attacks ISISrael ………………………………… WHY?! ISIS is completely surrounded by supposed enemies. Everyone of the countries surrounding ISIS is SUPPOSEDLY an ally of the USA. Time for the USA to take a good hard look at it’s “allies”. Our “intelligence” agencies should have identified and destroyed those who are supplying ISIS but have not …… WHY?! “our” Generals have not destroyed those who are supplying ISIS ………… WHY?! You know d**n WELL WHO supplies their weapons, that kill American Troops. The FIRST thing a general that WANTS TO… Read more »

IS explosives and tools came via Turkey not Israel nor the US.
The ammo has come to IS via vetted terrorists who were either getting aid by the Gulf states or the US.

This has been public knowledge for long. http://www.conflictarm.com/

Some EU governments and US services warned the Obama administration of this future, possible outcome. So what?

p.s. Jihadi ideology considers traitors and munafiqun a more urgent target than the arch enemy Israel or crusaders. No surprise either!

Actually, it’s Turkey and Iran working at splitting Syria in two but it’s the jihadist masterplan : islamisation of secular countries…

This is a known fact since the CAR (Conflict Armament Research) report on IS’s arms. End user certificates of the US and Bani Saud are often loosely phrased and not kept. Vetted terrorists supplied by the “Friends of Syria” often pass on surplus gear to IS and Al-Qaeda.

p.s. Sabine Lösing is a MEP for the Linke – extreme left wing party – many of that party are former communists – who are mostly Russophile.
She is specialist in security policy.

@ Stern Daler.

Sabine Lösing has the courage to expose what is an ‘open secret’ amongst the EU Elite.

The NATO nations involved NEVER thought that the US Coalition of Terror would be thwarted in Syria.

The US arming of world terrorist mercenaries was a deliberate strategy that obviated the support of US citizens in another US war of choice.

US citizens are tired of endless wars where money badly needed to modernise America is being squandered on military equipment that the US military is unwilling to use against enemies who have the capacity to ‘ shoot back ‘. 🙂

@FlorianGeyer, the EU elites funded the Conflict Armament Research project. They proved what they suspected and exposed it. It was their way to criticize the handful of NATO countries that in Syria transgressed A/RES/2625(XXV) = Declaration on Principles of International Law concerning Friendly Relations and Co-operation among States in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations.

p.s. Sabine Lösing merely used this material last month or so. I posted it in the comment section here since almost a year.

You issued animadversion to him – ask Yourself.

Or do You want to say that like him I enumerate painful truths? Smirk.

p.s. I recently wondered why he did not post as member any more. Up to then he was the most senior member whom I know off.

@ stern daler, Animadversion what’s that?
I only asked because you seemed to have a rapport with Daesh, an understanding if you like of the Rothchilds run Europe. TBH Daesh brought any hostility upon himself, and if you talk s**t then you’ve got to expect to be slapped down now and again.

Maybe those ” painful truths ” are coming home to roost, you can only lie to yourself for so long before reality sets in and cognitive dissonance takes over. 🙂

Animadversion, You really mean the word or think that some here did not issue hostile criticism?

I understand that DbSx knows something about weapons and armies. But lately his ideas about Iranian support for IS are a little far fetched.

I understand DbSx but I also have pulled his leg with attacks on WW I Entente’s past policies. They brought the US empire’s hegemony down on us all and prepared the soil for countless wars. While he insists what the Entente did then was still legally binding today.

Iranian support for IS and other terrorists like Talebans or Qaeda are open-secrets just like weapons deliveries to terrorists.

Absolutely Stern and you know full well it was designed to be that way, the sovereignty of individual European nations was to be sacrificed for a united europe, a stepping stone to the formation of a new world order.
