Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan vowed that his country will continue to cooperate with Iraq and to keep fighting against terror organisations, including the PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party) and the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL), while speaking at a press conference alongside Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi in Ankara on Tuesday.

“There is no difference between the Daesh (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL) slaughterers and the PKK murderers. They are both savage organisations which won’t hesitate to kill babies in their cradle,” Erdogan said.

“We will keep cooperating with Iraq in the battle against all terror organisations, primarily Daesh”, he stated.

Al-Abadi touched on the current economic issues facing Turkey, including the Turkish Lira’s rapid loss of value against the dollar, and said “we stand by Turkey in its current monetary crisis. With our mutual cooperation, we can overcome the many challenges facing our two countries, our peoples and the region as a whole.”

This is a Civilized Place for Public Discussion

Please treat this discussion with the same respect you would a public park. We, too, are a shared community resource — a place to share skills, knowledge and interests through ongoing conversation.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

The topics discussed here matter to us, and we want you to act as if they matter to you, too. Be respectful of the topics and the people discussing them, even if you disagree with some of what is being said.

Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree

You may wish to respond to something by disagreeing with it. That’s fine. But remember to criticize ideas, not people. Please avoid:

  • Name-calling
  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.

Will Erdogan fight against Turkish troops or Turkish proxies?

No. He will support them since they are all needed to create Northern Cyprus 2.0 in Idlib and North Aleppo.

Sounds like Simon de Montfort during Albi’s siege, when the city fell…
“Kill’em all, God will pick his owns”…
They really did it and even slaughtered the babies.
Religious war…
Guess why religion shall stay out of politics, no matter the religion!
