Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has threatened to stop the EU refugee deal unless visa-free travel is guaranteed.

“If that (the visa exemption) is not what will happen… no decision and no law in the framework of the readmission agreement will come out of the parliament of the Turkish Republic,” said Erdogan at the World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul on Tuesday.

“Our foreign ministry, our EU affairs ministry will have discussions with the Europeans. If there is a result then great. If not, then I’m sorry,” he continued.

The threat was made after German Chancellor Angela Merkel warned that the deal would not eventuate if “the terrorism legislation is not changed in the coming weeks” in Turkey.

The deal would incorporate refugees returning to Turkey from Europe in exchange for one Syrian refugee currently living in Turkey. The EU would also have to provide financial aid, visa-free travel for Turkish citizens and a progress in Turkey’s EU membership negotiations.

There is a simple way to deal with ErDOG : simply close the Turkish borders to Europe! Visas would become useless, no more tourists and as the russians have already closed their borders, have stopped trades and do not send tourists too, Erdog would fastly be on his knees.
Merkel is a pity who is only able to think at the german level. If she was able to think at an european level, she would consider that EU is a really economical heavy weight, even more heavier than the US so, the appropriate answer to Erdog is : “f**k YOU”.
