BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:50 A.M.) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan slammed the negative reaction from NATO allies over a recent purchase of S-400 missile systems from Russia and vowed to provide the military with more “anti-terror” weapons, speaking in Ankara on Wednesday.

Erdogan asserted that it was a “necessary step” adding that Turkey needed to “take precautions” when it came to security and that Turkey would “take matters into our (Turkey’s) own hands.”

A day earlier, Turkey had signed a $2.5bn (€ 2.1bn) deal to arm its army with Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missiles.

Erdogan can buy what he wants.

If then he is booted out of Nato, that is up to Nato.
