BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:30 P.M.) – The Syrian government continued their war of words with the Erdogan administration on Tuesday as both sides resume their insults towards one another.
During a press conference in Moscow on Tuesday, the political and media adviser to the Syrian President Dr. Bouthaina Sha’aban heavily criticized Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan over Ottoman-like ambitions in the region.
“Turkey has all the new ambitions to occupy other people’s land. I think we are facing Erdogan who has dreams of reinvigorating and recreating the Ottoman Empire,” she began.
“I don’t think he will be able to do that because our people are there to defend our land and to defend our country, and to defend the sovereignty of our county,” she would add.
Dr. Sha’aban’s comments came shortly after she accused the U.S. Coalition of prolonging the fight against terrorists inside Syria.
