BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:30 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continues to tighten its stranglehold on besieged ISIS forces in eastern Hama Governorate, today scoring a critical advance in the direction of ‘Uqayribat – the Islamic State’s stronghold in the region.
Today, the Syrian Army, spearheaded by the elite ISIS Hunters unit, liberated from ISIS the towns of Haddaj, Rasm Zainab, Tahmaz and Bir Ghazaleh. These settlements are located north of the strategic Bilaas mountain chain and SAA positions around Sawwanah.
By this advance, ISIS is now in serious trouble as Syrian forces stand just ten kilometers (via the eastern direction) from the terrorist group’s regional stronghold of ‘Uqayribat.
Not surprisingly ISIS reinforcements are reported to be heading towards the newly liberated areas in bid to re-seize them. To this end, Syrian and Russian airpower is now in the process of targeting all ISIS motorized columns heading in the direction of settlements.
