BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:30 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has, after a several day hiatus, resumed its offensive in eastern Damascus which aimed at liberating the suburbs of Jobar and Ayn Tarma. For the SAA, the entire dynamics of the Jobar operation have just changed with the arrival of the 42nd Brigade of the veteran 4th Mechanized Division.

After heavy airstrikes and surface-to-surface rocket bombardment, the SAA has resumed the offensive in both the districts of Ayn Tarma and Jobar.

In Ayn Tarma, SAA units stormed the area around the slaughterhouse building (captured by SAA about two weeks ago) whilst simultaneously assaulting the northeastern sector of Jobar.

For first time in the operation to pinch out the Jobar salient, the elite 42nd Brigade of the 4th Mechanized Division is participating in battle by providing heavy fire support for storming troops. Most of this additional firepower is being delivered by the 42nd Brigade’s T-72 tanks.

This entire development comes after the expiration of the 24-hour deadline given to the Faylaq Al-Rahman rebel group to force the Al-Qaeda-linked Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) terrorist group out of eastern Damascus.

The 4th Mechanized Division is a specialist formation that employs tactics, strategies and equipment tailor-designed for fighting in Damascus’ heavily-urbanized battlespace. To go with this, most of the troops and officers who make up the division have years of service under their belt, adding an experience factor to the its technological and doctrinal prestige.

The US inspired terrorists fight for greed and instead receive death. it will be karma indeed when the remnants of the terror groups turn on the US and her vassals in Europe 🙂 The US also have many hundreds of military occupation outposts around the globe. None of them will be free from the risk of attacks by those the US has betrayed 🙂
