El Ejército Árabe Sirio (EAS) continuó su operación militar en la zona rural de Wadi Barada, en Damasco, alcanzando las posiciones de Jabhat Fateh al-Sham (antiguo Frente al-Nusra) en la villa de Ayn al-Fijah.

Respaldado por Hezbolá, el EAS intenta romper las líneas de defensa de los islamistas en el flanco norte de Ayn al-Fijah esta mañana, sin embargo el primer asalto fue repelido por los terroristas.

El ejército sirio se reagrupará al norte de la villa para reiniciar el asalto, golpeando el frente con más tropas y artillería pesada.

Si bien el EAS no ha logrado ningún avance significativo, el ataque busca aplicar mayor presión sobre los rebeldes jihadistas para que rindan la zona de Wadi Barada y así restaurar el suministro de agua a un estimado de 5 millones de personas en Damasco.
