La policía kurda (Asayish) intensificó su ataque contra las fuerzas pro-gubernamentales en Qamishli el jueves, resultando en una serie de enfrentamientos violentos en la Zona de Seguridad y el distrito de al-Wasta.

Después de una feroz batalla en la prisión de Allaya con las tribus árabes de las Fuerzas de Defensa Nacional (FDN), las Asayish impusieron control total sobre este sitio militar ubicado en las afueras de Qamishli.

En un intento de mediar entre las dos partes, el Ejército Árabe Sirio (EAS) fue capaz de calmar a las Fuerzas de Defensa Nacional; sin embargo, se experimenta resistencia de las Asayish, que abrió fuego contra los soldados.

Como resultado de esta provocación, el Ejército Árabe Sirio tomó represalias contra de las Asayish y los obligó a escabullirse.

La situación sigue siendo tensa, pero fuentes locales confirmaron que la lucha ha amainado considerablemente desde los enfrentamientos de ayer.
