El Ejército Árabe Sirio (EAS) comenzó un potente ataque contra rebeldes jihadistas en el norte de Latakia esta semana, apuntando a varios sitios en manos del grupo terrorista Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham en las cercanías de la frontera turca.

Utilizando lanzadores de cohetes múltiples, el EAS utilizó un gran número de misiles para atacar las posiciones jihadistas en un esfuerzo por debilitar sus defensas en la zona de Jabal al-Akrad.

Las fuerzas gubernamentales pondrán atención en los próximos meses en la provincia de Latakia a medida que las operaciones en el sur del país terminen.

Los jihadistas de esta zona son incapaces de avanzar, en gran medida gracias a la presencia militar rusa en la provincia.

Sin embargo, el problema principal en la región lo representa la presencia de un contingente militar turco en Jabal al-Akrad, quienes levantaron puestos de observación ilegales que han probado ser puntos de apoyo para ataques contra el ejército sirio.
