An attack by gunmen on Monday at the Naqb checkpoint in the New Valley province has killed at least eight policemen and injured another three, according to state television.

Egypt’s Interior Ministry confirmed that two of the gunmen were neutralized by the police.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but the most active terrorist group in the past two years has been the ISIS-affiliated Velayat Sinai.
