An explosive device in a bag was discovered by police close to a church in Cairo, Sky News Arabia reported Friday.

The device reportedly detonated as officers checked the suspicious item.

One Egyptian police officer was killed while another was injured in the explosion, Sky News Arabia said.

There was no immediate confirmation from local authorities or any immediate claim of responsibility.

The incident occurred less than two days ahead of the January 7 Coptic Christmas celebrations in Egypt.

Christians reportedly account for some 10 percent of Egypt’s largely Muslim population.

I agree. RIP for this hero cowardly assassinated by terrorists.

In order to be fair, since Copts are 10%, Egypt should dismantle 10 mosques for any attack on a Coptic church and 100 per death occurring in such attacks, then replace ’em by Coptic churches, thus, the more Islamists attack, the more Islam disappears from the country and killing anyone would even way much accelerate the process…
This would be a very interesting way to punish Islamists.
