BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:30 P.M.) – The Egyptian authorities are not blocking Iranian oil tankers from transiting the Suez Canal, the naval tracking website Marine Traffic showed on Thursday.
The website allows you to track almost all naval ships traveling across the world and in this case, it showed how Iranian vessels were able to cross the Suez Canal that links the Red and Mediterranean seas.
As illustrated in the photo above, the Iranian oil tanker “Stark I” had successfully transited the Suez Canal and is currently en route to a Turkish port near the large coastal city of Izmir.
In addition to the visual proof above, the Egyptian government issued a statement last week denying that they were blocking Iranian oil from reaching Syria.
If Iran is able to ship oil to western Turkey, they are certainly able to transport oil to the Syrian coastal cities of Tartous and Latakia.
