Egypt has denied reports that it has a military presence in Syria.

“These claims only exist in the imagination of those who promote them,” the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement issued on Sunday.

Although Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi expressed his support for the Syrian military, it has denied that any pilots are in Syria.

These claims first came from Jordan sources. Thus, it would be a great thing if Egypt implied its air forces as the more that will go after the cockroaches, the better it will be and Egypt has a very interesting Air-Force, they could also greatly help in logistics using their Mistral-class LHDs, thus, having the both near Syrian coasts would also greatly help for medical treatment : both ships have serious hospital facilities. The best part about using those Mistral ships to help the Russian coalition is that they were intended for Russia but sold to Egypt as part of the 2014 sanctions. Irony.

But what is cool is that Egypt paid them with Saudi money while their relations have gotten sour… Unfortunatelly, al-Sisi is not too willing to imply. A little history about the Mistral contract : in fact, F.Hollande hesitated a lot before cancelling as it was under serious pressure from Merkel, Cameron, Obama and public opinion was considering that we shouldn’t cancel such contract, especially with Russia, moreover, it made us lose about 250M€ of our tax paid money, well, the biggest part of it due to storage for all the time it needed to contract their sale.
