BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:00 A.M.) – The Islamic State (ISIS) launched a powerful offensive in the Deir Ezzor Governorate on Friday, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions around the besieged military airport. Syrian Airforce neutralizes dozens of ISIS in the Besieged Deir Ezzor.

ISIS began the assault by storming the Syrian Arab Army’s defenses from the northern and southern flanks of the military airport; however, this attack would later be repelled after the terrorist group failed to advance their positions.

While the Islamic State was gathering for another assault west of the airport, the Syrian Air Force launched a large number airstrikes at Jabal Thardeh, killing an estimated 45 Islamic State terrorists.

Elsewhere, the Syrian Air Force reportedly destroyed one of the Islamic State’s biggest operations room, killing and wounding an estimated 75 terrorists as a result of these powerful airstrikes on Friday evening.

A military source added that at least 5 technical vehicles were destroyed by the Syrian Air Force at this operations room in the Al-Mokharat area of Deir Ezzor.

Keep it up! The most important step is to reopen the supply route to the city. For three years the soldiers here have fought bravely and the Daeshbags are looking to capitalize on the double siege by making Deir ez Zor their new “capital” since the Kurds are only 5km from Ar Raqqah(interestingly enough, they are only 1km away from the Division 17 base where another group of SAA soldiers fought bravely for a long time until all of them were eventually martyred, a tragic tale). Deir ez Zor must not face the same fate as the Division 17 base… Read more »
