BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:00 A.M.) – The so-called “Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham” (ISIS) launched a powerful assault north of the Kuweires Military Airport on Tuesday, targeting the village of Nasrallah from their positions at Rasm Al-Kama.
ISIS began the assault by sending wave-after-wave of combatants towards the Syrian Arab Army’s defenses at Nasrallah, resulting in several hours of intense combat on Tuesday in the eastern countryside of Aleppo.
Following a series of intense clashes, the Islamic State terrorists were unable to advance around Nasrallah’s northeastern perimeter, forcing them to withdraw from the village before nightfall.
According to a military source in Aleppo, Islamic State suffered an estimated 35 casualties during their failed advance on Tuesday, marking their highest death toll near Kuweires Military Airport this month.
In addition to the Islamic State’s significant number of casualties sustained in east Aleppo today, they also managed to lose 3 pick-up trucks that were mounted with 23mm anti-aircraft machine guns.
