BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:30 P.M.) – General Joseph ‘Aoun of the Lebanese Army confirmed that DNA tests conducted on the corpses found in the Ras Ba’albak region of the Beqa’a Governorate were in fact those of the nine kidnapped Lebanese Army soldiers.

The Lebanese Minister of Defense revealed the test results to the families of the nine Lebanese soldiers, today, in a closed door meeting after the DNA tests were completed.

The nine Lebanese soldiers were kidnapped in 2014 by the so-called Islamic State (ISIL) in Jaroud ‘Arsal region near the Syrian border.
