A few days ago, a major tunnel bomb struck the northern building blocks of the Zahraa district in western Aleppo in an area controlled by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).

It now turns out that the insurgent attack targeted an outpost of the Liwa al-Quds Brigade with the incident killing 46 fighters from the pro-government paramilitary group.

Footage of the tunnel bomb can be viewed below:

A source also said that some fighters were still alive under the rubbles with a rescue mission underway to retrieve them.

The SAA should be equipped with vibration detection devises they can detect activity under ground similar to those used by rescue units to detect life under the ramble of an earthquake.. to sad to read these news … rest in peace heroes ..

Whenever Russia with the help of Iranian troops decided to get a land in Allepo, they achieved it in its best way. I don’t know why they gave it up! What is going on behind the scenes?

What about burying thightly spaced steel rods some 5 10m long around the building. Some basic vibration sensors can be on the steel rods to detect tunnel activity.
