Damascus, Syria – The Islamist groups inside Darayya have formally agreed to surrender the town after negotiating with a Syrian government delegation for nearly 48 hours.
Under the terms of surrender, the Syrian government has agreed to transport the remaining militants from Liwaa Shuhada Al-Islam and civilians to their requested destinations.
Darayya’s civilians will be transferred to the opposition-held Qudsiya District, which is located just west of Damascus City.
The government has agreed to provide those civilians humanitarian aid and medical assistance; this will be administrated by U.N. groups.
For the Islamist fighters, they will be transported by government buses to Jaysh Al-Fateh’s front-lines in the Idlib Governorate.
In return, the Islamist groups will surrender the territory they control in Darayya to the Syrian government.
