DAMASCUS, SYRIA (1:25 P.M.) – The Syrian Armed Forces resumed military operations against militants in Daraa province after talks with rebel groups to reach an agreement failed.

Having recaptured the strategic town of Saida, the elite Tiger Forces have shifted focus to Um Elmiathin town which came under heavy artillery and MLRs shelling prior to ground invasion.

Meanwhile, the Russian fighter jets conducted several airstrikes targeting militants’ positions and fortifications near the Nassib border crossing across the Jordanian borders.

According to rebel source, the Russian warplanes used the Jordanian space to hit the area.

Once Um Elmiathin taken over by the Syrian Army, the government troops will continue advance toward the strategic Nassib border crossing.

This comes after the 4th round of negotiations held between rebel groups and Russian military failed to reach a ceasefire agreement.

Please treat this discussion with the same respect you would a public park. We, too, are a shared community resource — a place to share skills, knowledge and interests through ongoing conversation.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

The topics discussed here matter to us, and we want you to act as if they matter to you, too. Be respectful of the topics and the people discussing them, even if you disagree with some of what is being said.

Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree
