DAMASCUS, SYRI (1:55 P.M.) – The Syrian Army has scored substantial advances in the southeastern countryside of Daraa, recapturing more territories from rebel groups and inching closer to the strategic Nassib border crossing.
According to a military source, the government troops are now roughly 2 km from the crossing after reclaiming Al-Naimah town and Grain Silos, as well as several outposts along the frontiers with Jordan.
“The Syrian Army is squeezing rebel forces in Nassib from two axes. Based on the course of battles, the border crossing might most likely fall within a few hours”.
Yesterday, the Syrian forces were spotted on the borders with Jordan for the first time in almost 6 years.
