DAMASCUS, SYRIA (2:30 P.M.) – Rebel forces in northeast Daraa have dramatically collapsed only a few days after the Syrian Army launched an all-out offensive aiming to reclaim all insurgent-controlled territories in southwest Syria.
The government troops – spearheaded by the battle-hardened Tiger Forces – were capable of liberating the stretching Lajat region; including rebels’ main stronghold of Busra al-Harir along with several others towns.
The fall of Busra al-Harir has propelled the Syrian Forces to march on southward; taking over Madajin area and amassing forces ahead an expected ground invasion of Nahteh.
According to military experts, the recapture of Busra al-Harir had a domino effect over the entire rebel-held areas in east Daraa countryside. The town acted as the main hub for rebel forces whish repeatedly launched assault against government forces to the west and Sweida city to the east.
