DAMASCUS, SYRIA (6:00 P.M.) – The Syrian forces are escalating the military operation in the provincial capital of Daraa by attacking rebel positions and supply lines in the southeastern part of the city amid massive rebel collapse.
According to a military source, intense artillery and rocket shelling are being conducted near Garz Prison and the Refugee Camp area to prepare the troops for ground advance.
The source added that Syrian fighter jets are hovering the skies, delivering precise airstrikes to help in a quick collapse for rebel groups.
Meanwhile, another Army unit is attempting to cut off the rebel supply route of Tareq al Sad-Daraa al Balad up to the Jordanian borders.
Earlier today, the entire Lajat region, which contains 44 villages and towns, has fallen to the Syrian Army after 3-days battles. The government troops also liberated Busra al-Harir; the rebels’ main bastion in the eastern countryside of the province; thus breaking through the entire insurgent-controlled area.
