Russia has proof that the Islamic State terror group* has been receiving weapons from other countries with the help of foreign security agencies, Russian envoy to the UN Vassily Nebenzia said.

“We have amassed evidence that weapons are being smuggled [to Syria] from outside, including through semi-legal organizations or even under protection of security agencies from other countries,” he told the United Nations on Thursday.

Nebenzia said Russia planned to discuss ways of putting an end to weapon deliveries to Daesh at an international conference on combating illicit arms trafficking, scheduled in Moscow on September 3-4.

The diplomat waned that Islamic militants were about to step up inroads into government-controlled territories, primarily near the northwestern city of Idlib. He added Daesh did not shy away from using children to stage terror attacks.
Nebenzia also said Russian armed forces had helped free over 1,400 towns and villages in Syria and bring over 96 percent of its territory back under government control, securing the return of over 1.5 million Syrian refugees.
Nebenzia noted that Al Qaeda* can fill the vacuum in Syria left by retreating Daesh fighters and become a major obstacle to the ongoing peace process.
“Our assessment is that Al Qaeda and its allies make take the initiative, becoming an obstacle to a peaceful settlement in Syria, as Daesh continues to crumble,” he said.

Mr Nebenzia didn’t actually mention the names of the countries that are supplying weapons to ISIS so I will. It is the US, Israel, UK, France aaaaaaaaaaand Saudi Arabia. This is common knowledge, maybe thats why he didn’t bother mentioning names.

Luke : And you forget Russia, China, North-Korea, Iran, even Swiss!
I’m sad, nobody wants my Turkish riffles and guns while I also have great weapons industry. We even have select-fire shotgun on catalogue. You totally sweep a full street out of protesters.
It’s even banned in USA, being classed as destructive weapon, in 2 seconds it shoots 360 pellets.

Just to make correction. Syria government has under its control less than 55% of its original territory, and not 96%. Kurds (USA-puppets) have 30% and Turkey-terrorists have the other 15%. Much much work and fight is needed to recover the other 45%, and I hope Russia continue given strong support and protection to ground troops (Syria-Iran-Hezbolah-Russia forces).

Yes this has been a Fake War on Terror. We in the US have been spied upon by the government because of the war on terror. I suspect some of the attacks on US soil where done with the help of the CIA.

Every body can nominate the countries who supplied the weapons and they should be reported with evidence to the UN and lodge a complain against countries who are supporting the terrorists. Shame on these countries who are using their citizens tax paid money to support the terrorists and the Irony , the obtain these money in the defense budget to fight terrorists but they channel the money to support the terrorists. Yet to see heart felt response from the Russians government who are gathering evidence for a long time but not using it in the international law or at least… Read more »
