BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:00 P.M.) – The so-called “Islamic State” (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) conducted two attacks in Raqqa city, today, despite losing the provincial capital to the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) last year.
According to Daesh’s official media wing, their carried out two attacks in Raqqa city, targeting the SDF troops on Al-Qitar Street and Tal Abyad Street.
The first attack reportedly took place when a Daesh agent threw a grenade at an SDF patrol on Al-Qitar Street.
The second attack took place when another Daesh agent opened fire on an SDF fighter with a silencer pistol on Tal Abyad Street.
Daesh’s attacks in Raqqa city comes just hours after they scored a big advance inside the Deir Ezzor Governorate’s southeastern region.
