Day eight of the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) offensive at Al-Yarmouk was relatively quiet, as the Islamist forces and their allies from the Hamas-linked “Aknef Beit Al-Maqdis” were unable to launch a counter-attack due to their weak defenses on border of Al-Tadamon.
Instead, ISIS focused their attention on the orchards of Yalda, attacking the remaining Islamist forces in eastern Al-Tadamon before they were able to break into the town and take control of this rural area.
As of Wednesday morning, ISIS has taken complete control over the southern sector of the Falasteen Camp and Al-Tadamon District; this has forced Aknef Beit Al-Maqdis to retreat north to the Palestinian resistance controlled areas in order to mount a counter-attack with their temporary allies.
For the remaining civilians in Al-Yarmouk; it has been hell living under the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” and ISIS.
On Tuesday, ISIS militants entered an apartment building and apprehended a 12 year old girl without cause; it was reported later by sources from Fatah Al-Intifada that the young woman was executed in front of her home.
According to the source from Fatah Al-Intifada, the victim was identified as Zaynab Daghastani – her body has not been recovered as of yet.
The Palestinian resistance forces attacked an agglomeration of ISIS fighters on Palestine Street near the Loubya building, taking control of the area after fierce clashes with the latter.
Currently, ISIS controls 60% of the Al-Yarmouk Camp, 50% of the Falasteen Camp, and 50 percent of the Al-Tadamon District – the Palestinian resistance forces control the remaining territory.
