Up to 11 jihadists from the Islamic State were killed when airstrikes hit their hideouts in Makhmour town, southeast of Erbil.
According to a Peshmerga field commander, the aerial bombardment on ISIS positions occurred on Tuesday morning by coalition fighter jets.
The commander said that no joint operations are currently held with the Iraqi forces against ISIS, but affirmed, at the same time, a considerable level of cooperation.
ISIS carried out sporadic assaults against the Iraqi forces since the Iraqi government officially declared the defeat of the terror group in December 2017.
Yesterday, ISIS suicide attack killed and injured scores of people, including PMU fighters, in the bordering town of Qa’im.
