DAMASCUS, SYRIA (7:35 P.M.) – The British Ministry of Defense admitted on Monday that one of their air assets participated in the Deir Ezzor bombing that killed 100+ Syrian Arab Army (SAA) soldiers fighting the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS).
“We can confirm that the UK participated in the recent coalition air strike in Syria, south of Dayr az Zawr on Saturday and we are full cooperating with the coalition investigation. The UK would not intentionally target Syrian military units. It would not be appropriate to comment further at this stage,” the Spokesperson for the British Ministry of Defense stated on Monday.
The British Air Force reportedly used a Reaper Drone to attack the Syrian Arab Army’s 137th Artillery Brigade at Jabal Thardeh, paving the way for the Islamic State to capture this strategic mountaintop.
Earlier today, Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad accused the U.S. and their allies of purposely conducting this attack against the Syrian Armed Forces, adding that this has been the customary practice of western countries opposing his government and military.
