BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:46 A.M.) – Video footage (shown below) has emerged to back the claims of the Jaysh al-Islam militant group that its forces fired a radar-guided missile at a Syrian Air Force helicopter on Friday night.
According to all sources, the radar-guided missile launched at the Syrian military helicopter came from a 9K33 Osa system which the rebel faction managed to get its hands on many years ago.
Jaysh al-Islam has stated that the missile it fired hit the Syrian Air Force helicopter, however the footage shown by them does not necessarily clarify this.
In its own statement, the Syrian military has denied that the missile launched actually struck the helicopter, saying instead that it pre-detonated before even coming close enough to cause any damage to the aircraft.
