BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:00 P.M.) – The U.S. Defense Department has approved the deployment of their Patriot Missile System to the Middle East as they deal with the “Iranian threat” national security adviser John Bolton warned of earlier this week.
Citing Deputy Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan, Sky News reported that the U.S. is indeed deploying this missile system in response to the alleged threats posed by the Iranian Armed Forces in the Persian Gulf.
Earlier this week, Bolton and U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo claimed that Iran was preparing to strike the U.S. forces in the Middle East region.
The U.S. then sent their aircraft carrier strike group, led by the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln, to the Persian Gulf after a brief deployment in the Mediterranean Sea.
Iran has denied any such plans, but Washington is adamant that Tehran was preparing to strike their forces in the region.
