BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:20 P.M.) – The Turkish-backed rebels from the National Liberation Front (NLF) reportedly killed four Russian soldiers in the northern countryside of the Hama Governorate this evening.
The National Liberation Front released their statement via their official media wing; however, the Russian Ministry of Defense has yet to corroborate these claims.
The last time the Turkish-backed rebels killed Russian military personnel, they responded with a massive attack on the militant positions; this would later prompt Turkey to interject and ease tensions.
With the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) preparing to launch a new offensive in northern Hama, the jihadist and Turkish-backed Rebels have stepped up their attacks in a bid to inflict as much damage on the government forces before the start of the operation.
The Syrian Air Force is already launching several airstrikes across the Hama-Idlib axis; they will likely be joined by the Russian Air Force shortly, as they typically attack at night and in the morning.
