DAMASCUS, SYRIA (3: 40 P.M.) – A Syrian Air Force fighter jet was reportedly shot down by rebel fighters in the Syrian desert.
The US-backed rebel group called “Osoud al-Sharqiyah” claimed they shot down a SyAAF fighter jet in Dakwah area, located 60 km to the east of Damascus and roughly 38 km east of the capital’s International Airport.
According to the rebel group, the pilot has ejected but can’t be yet found.
AMN can’t verify the validity of this claim.
The Syrian government forces, backed by Russian airstrikes and allied fighters, have achieved considerable progress against the US-backed rebels along the Syrian borders as the race rages for control of the Syrian Desert.
