BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:25 P.M.) – The Syrian military command announced on Friday that all operations in the eastern pocket of the Homs Governorate have concluded after several months of battle against the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) terror organization.

Furthermore, the military command stated that the Syrian Arab Army and their allies managed to liberate more than 1,800 square kilometers of territory during this long battle in central Syria.

This announcement by the Syrian military command comes just hours after the Syrian Arab Army liberated the entire eastern pocket of the Hama Governorate, forcing the remaining Islamic State terrorists to flee to Homs.

The fate of the Islamic State terrorists in east Homs is still unknown; they may have accepted a deal to be transported from this region to the Deir Ezzor Governorate.
