BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:20 A.M.) – Earlier tonight, the Syrian military spotted an alleged Israeli drone above the western countryside of Damascus, prompting their air defenses to activate and target the unmanned aerial vehicle.

According to a military source, the drone was flying over the Deir Al-Asha’ir area of western Damascus before it was finally spotted and downed by their air defenses

The Syrian military said their radars tracked the drone and believe it was an Israeli UAV that was conducting a reconnaissance mission above the western countryside of Damascus.

No further details were released.

The Syrian air defense targeted and downed a similar drone last week, but its debris was not found.

NATO with all its tech needed 5 days to find a debris of a missile that was launching by mistake by a eurofihhter jet…imagine Syria tech to find a drone debris in a radio of dozens of km in the midel of a desert..

Depends what you have around : Estonia has nothing like the giant Dimona X-band radar. It is said that, at its lowest threshold, it even can “see” objects the size of a bee (!). The two antennas are 400m+ high. I wouldn’t be surprised if such capabilities were true : X-band radars are extremely accurate and there is no other one with such high antennas. The complex belongs to the Yanks but IDF is fully networked. Now just consider how the Iron Dome system calculates from where the rocket or the shell was launched with just a few metres accuracy… Read more »
