DAMASCUS, SYRIA (5:55 P.M.) – The self-proclaimed Islamic State is exponentially losing more of its territories to the Syrian Army troops who also prepare for the final battle in the eastern city of Deir Ezzor.
Led by the Russian-trained ISIS Hunters, the Syrian forces managed today to take over the ISIS-held town of Huwaysis as well as most of the Abu Duhur mountain; both located to the west of Shaer Mountain in central Homs.
The recent advance will make it easier for the Syrian Army to storm the strategic Bilaas Mountain to the north of Huwaysis. This will eventually put all ISIS-held areas in eastern Hama countryside under the Army’s firing range.
In the meantime, the government troops keep ISIS militants busy and distracted by storming their positions in east Hama pocket under heavy cover from Syrian and Russian airstrikes.
