BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:30 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a powerful attack on the strategic district of Jisr Al-Shughour, today, targeting targeting several areas under the control of the Turkestan Islamic Party and Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.
According to a military source in nearby Latakia, the Syrian Arab Army fired a barrage of missiles towards the district, hitting the jihadist positions inside Jisr Al-Shughour, Al-Ghassaniyeh, and Ishtabraq.
The Syrian Arab Army also targeted several jihadist-held areas inside the Al-Ghaab Plain, including the town of Zayzour.
In the coming weeks, the Syrian Arab Army is expected to kickoff their long-awaited offensive in the northern countryside of Latakia and southwestern Idlib.
This large-scale operation will target the areas controlled by Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and their allies around the Idlib, Hama, and Latakia governorates.
