BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:40 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a powerful attack inside the Badiya Al-Sham region of southeast Syria, tonight, targeting one of the Islamic State’s (ISIS) most important areas in this pocket.

Backed by heavy artillery and Hezbollah, the Syrian Arab Army stormed the large hilltop of Tal Safa in a bid to capture this important area that is believed to be the site of the Islamic State’s command-and-control center.

According to a military report from rural Homs, the Syrian Army and their allies are currently advancing towards Tal Safa from two axes, as they look to overwhelm the Islamic State terrorists with this night assault.

The Syrian Army is hoping to capture both Tal Safa and Al-Kara’a in the coming days, as these are two of the most important sites under the Islamic State’s control in Badiya Al-Sham.
