BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has scored their first advance inside the Latakia Governorate this month, a source from the military told Al-Masdar moments ago.
According to the source, the Syrian Arab Army was able to advance at the southern axis of Kabani after peppering the jihadist defenses with missiles for several hours on Tuesday.
The source added that intense clashes are ongoing between the Syrian Army’s 4th Armored Division and Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham at the southern axis of Kabani.
Kabani is an imperative mountaintop town that is located in the Zuwayqat Mountain region in northeastern Latakia. The Syrian Army is attempting to capture the town in order to regain control over the last jihadist-held areas in the Latakia Governorate.
The Syrian Army’s previous attempts to capture Kabani have failed, despite the fact they have the larger force and air supremacy.
