BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:40 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a major attack in northwest Daraa this afternoon, a military source in Damascus told Al-Masdar News.
Led by their elite Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army stormed the town of Zimrin in northwest Daraa, resulting in a fierce battle with the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.
Following the fierce clashes, the Syrian Arab Army was able to overpower the jihadist rebels and force them to abandon their positions inside of Zimrin.
The Syrian Arab Army is now in full control of Zimrin, which leaves them very close to the key town of Tal Al-Harrah in western Daraa.
According to a source in Daraa, the Syrian Army resumed their offensive in northwest Daraa after the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham refused to leave the area.
Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham has been repeatedly warned in Daraa that if they do not accept transportation to northern Syria, they will be attacked by the Syrian Arab Army.
