BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:45 P.M.) – Minutes ago, a military source informed Al-Masdar News that the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their allies imposed fire control over the Humaymah area of eastern Homs after a fierce battle with the Islamic State (ISIL) terror organization tonight.
Backed by Russian airstrikes, the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Corps and 18th Tank Division broke-through the Islamic State’s front-lines in the Humaymah region’s northwestern part, paving their way to liberate several points that were under the terrorist group’s control for over two years.
According to the source, the Syrian Arab Army has killed over 50 Islamic State militants in the past 48 hours in this region of east Homs; furthermore, they have destroyed at least a half dozen armored vehicles fitted with 12.5mm and 23mm machine guns.
With fire control over Humaymah, the Syrian Arab Army can now turn their attention to the strategic T-2 Pumping Station that is located along the Deir Ezzor Governorate’s provincial border.
