The provincial capital of Syria’s oil-rich Deir Ezzor province has just been declared entirely liberated following months-long battles with the Islamic State terror group.

ISIS militants have been squeezed in a couple of neighborhoods after losing great numbers of its fighters during the battles with the advancing Syrian forces.

“The Syrian Army managed to fully secure the eastern city of Deir Ezzor after expelling ISIS militants from its last neighborhoods inside the city,” a Syrian military official said in a statement.

Deir Ezzor has a strategic importance for the Syrian government and opposition for being the country’s oil-rich province.

Meanwhile, the Syrian government forces, backed by allies, are now less than 45 km from the bordering city of Albukamal.

Hearty Congratulations to President Assad, Syrian Army, Hezb, Palestinian Militia, Iranians & all the allies especially the Russian President & Russian Armed Forces who bombed relentlessly all the Daesh positions by every day degrading them. Credit also should go to the Late General Issam Zahreddine whom we all miss who was instrumental in many a battle against Daesh until his untimely demise. I am sure he would have cherished this victory. Now let the whole Western Powers & World know this how Syria has taken back its own cities back from Daesh. Daesh is now history in Syria. May be… Read more »
