BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:10 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has begun a new offensive in the northwestern countryside of the Hama Governorate in a bid to expand the buffer zone around the main road linking Mhardeh and Sqaylabiyeh.
Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army began their assault this evening by storming the militant-held town of Zakah, which is located near the recently captured hilltop of Tal Malah.
As of now, no advances have been announced by the Tiger Forces.
On Sunday evening, the Syrian Arab Army managed to retake Tal Malah from the militants of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and Jaysh Al-Izza.
The following day, the Syrian Arab Army completed their objective, which was reopening the road between Mhardeh and Sqaylabiyeh, after seizing the nearby town of Jibeen.
