Moments ago, the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division – in coordination with Hezbollah, the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Aleppo City, the Al-Ba’ath Battalions, and several Iraqi and Iranian paramilitary units – imposed full control over the village of Makahlah in southern Aleppo after a fierce firefight with the Islamist rebels of Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki, the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra”, and Liwaa Suqour Al-Sham.
The capture of Makahlah by the Syrian Armed Forces and Lebanese Resistance adds another village to the list of captured sites by the aforementioned pro-government forces while also furthers the plight of the Islamist rebel forces, which are led by Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham.
Yesterday, the Syrian Armed Forces and Lebanese Resistance recaptured the villages of ‘Aziziyah and Talaylat after these aforementioned sites were seized by the Islamist rebels from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki, and Liwaa Suqour Al-Sham.
With four villages captured in the last 48 hours, the Syrian Armed Forces and Lebanese Resistance are preparing for their large-scale assault on the rebel stronghold of Al-Hadher; if captured, they will have access to the Damascus-Aleppo Highway (M-5) that leads to the Idlib Governorate.
While Al-Hadher is the focal point, the Syrian Armed Forces and Lebanese Resistance are still focused on the town of Khan Touman, where the Islamist rebels are currently building up their forces to combat another assault.
