Moments ago, the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division – in coordination with Hezbollah, the National Defense Forces (NDF), Al-Ba’ath Battalions, Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi Paramilitary), Kataeb Hezbollah (Iraqi Paramilitary), and Firqa Fatameyyoun (Iranian-Afghani Paramilitary) – have advanced deeper into the Aleppo Governorate’s southern countryside after capturing two more villages from the Islamist rebels of Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham.

According to several field reports from the Aleppo Governorate, the Syrian Armed Forces, Lebanese Resistance, and the Iraqi-Iranian Paramilitary units imposed full control over the villages Jamaymah and Maryameen in southern Aleppo after a series of intense firefights with the Islamist rebel forces; this  resulted in the complete withdrawal of Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham to the strategic town of Al-Hadher.

With Jamaymah and Maryameen under their control, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies are now in position to assault the town of Al-Hadher; if captured, the pro-government forces will be less than 10km away from the Idlib Governorate and less than 5km away from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham’s headquarters in southern Aleppo.

Currently, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies are bombarding the town of Al-Hadher with mortar shells and rockets, but they have not made any attempts to enter it as of yet.

Please treat this discussion with the same respect you would a public park. We, too, are a shared community resource — a place to share skills, knowledge and interests through ongoing conversation.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree

You may wish to respond to something by disagreeing with it. That’s fine. But remember to criticize ideas, not people. Please avoid:

  • Name-calling
  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.
