BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) carried out a deadly ambush this afternoon that targeted a group of jihadist rebels heading towards the strategic city of Jisr Al-Shughour.
According to a military communique, the Syrian Arab Army’s missile units fired an ATGM at at a vehicle operated by jihadists from Jabhat Tahrir Souriya in the Al-Ghaab Plain today.
The ATGM reportedly struck the jihadist-operated vehicle near the town of Al-Sirmaniyah, killing at least four vehicles , while also wounding another two passengers.
Furthermore, another unit from the Syrian Arab Army targeted a group of militants from the Turkestan Islamic Party at the nearby town of Zayzoun in the Al-Ghaab Plain.
This aforementioned attack by the Syrian Arab Army resulting in the death of at least two jihadist rebels.
These latest attacks come just days after the Syrian Arab Army began moving their forces north towards the Hama and Idlib governorates.
